Ukrainian Media League (UML) is one of the leading organisation in media and cultural areas. UML is making every effort to involve the media, film and cultural community in resisting Russia’s war against Ukraine. UML directs its resources to expand support for the Ukrainian community and block Russian products in the media, film and culture.

On February 28, 2022, the State Film Agency of Ukraine applied to international film festivals, including Cannes Film Festival  (Festival de Cannes), Berlin International Film Festival, Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Venice Film Festival La Biennale di Venezia and other international film festivals.

Ukrainian Media League supports the State Film Agency. Director of Ukrainian Media League Tetiana Ilchuk  supports and called for a boycott of Russian cinema and any audiovisual products, including co-productions. The call was sent to over 50 festivals and organisations from all over the world.

Ukrainian Media League letter directly asks to stop any cooperation with producers of audiovisual products of the Russian Federation.

In particular – the creation, exhibition and distribution of audiovisual products with the participation of organisations / individuals from the Russian Federation, as well as works with the participation of actors and public figures who support the criminal actions of the Russian Federation.

We ask the organizers of international film festivals and events held under their auspices not to participate in competitive and non-competitive programs of films produced by the Russian Federation or in co-production with it, as well as any other cooperation with producers / distributors / organizers of Russian films Federation.
