On September 19-20, 2024, Kyiv served as a venue for significant discussions in the media area. Alongside the NAM Summit sixth time was organized National Media Talk (NMT) 2024. This large-scale event traditionally gathered over 500 leading leaders, journalists, editors, and managers from the Ukrainian media industry, who actively participated in a dialogue about the most pressing challenges facing the industry.

Among the conference participants were media experts from the Ukrainian Media League, who contributed to discussions on journalism standards during wartime, market transformations, and new trends shaping Ukraine’s media landscape.

Throughout the event, Ukrainian and international experts discussed strategic directions for the development of the Ukrainian media industry, fostering a community of professionals open to change. Discussion topics included the future of Ukrainian journalism in a global context and the current challenges arising in the third year of the large-scale war. Specifically, there was an emphasis on changes in audience consumption habits, state support for media, and media freedom amid increasing governmental influence. The conference showcased innovative solutions, discussed ethical and professional standards, and highlighted the importance of developing professional connections and supporting young talents in the media sector.

National Media Talk 2024 became an important platform for exchanging experiences, ideas, and strategies necessary for the continued development of journalism in Ukraine. Participants not only addressed existing issues but also identified new opportunities emerging amid rapid changes. NMT 2024 created a space for productive discussions and collaborative actions for the future, seeking solutions to the contemporary challenges facing the Ukrainian media industry.
